With the draft one week away it's a good time to mention two outstanding players who were college scouts after their playing careers and may be solid candidates for the Hall of the Very Good. Both of their teams won a lot of games when they played.
Harley Sewell had an 11 year career with the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams. Two NFL Championships, four trips to the Pro Bowl. 30 plus years as an NFL Scout
Buford "Baby" Ray also had an 11 year playing career (all with the Packers). NFL All-Decade Team: 1940s, all-pro first team: 1939, '41, '43, and '44
Member of the Packers All-Iron Man Era Team: 1976
Thank you.
