The NFL Championship many say was the greatest game ever played. Baltimore won in overtime 23 to17. There was a broadcasting anomaly in those days. CBS televised all NFL games on a regional basis. There were three National Telecasts-on Thanksgiving at Detroit and the Saturdays of 11th and 12th week of the year. However, the NFL negotiated the Championship Game separately and awarded it to NBC.
