I am happy for all the candidates but the super-seniors still need their due. Whoever presented Powell and convinced voters of his leadership in changing conditions and acceptance of black players and athletes, deserves a round of applause. His odds to get nominated for this year had to have been incredible.

Whether people believe he is deserving or not, he is in the same boat somewhat, as Speedie, Lavelli, Motley and other Browns players who dominated the AAFC, and still made the HOF ... If those statistics are absorbed warts and all into the NFL, then the early AFL, which had every team merged into the NFL, has to get that same consideration, regardless of a shortage of quality athletes. If anything, Powell becoming an early superstar for the league allowed fans and players alike to decide for themselves and participate in the survival of this rival league, as television allowed all teams a spot at the dinner table.

Agreed Brian 100% Super Seniors need their due also , in terms of
Art Powell I figured it would come down to powell or Sharpe and not a real shock to me they went with powell.

Surprised that Craig, Anderson and Meador got spots #4-6 ... assumed Sharpe, Lewis or Baughan may have been there ... next year I believe 2/3 spots will be offense.
