Hey Guys,
Do any of you know if the rule that declared that a thrown pass which hit a goal post would result in a safety for the defensive team...do any of you know when that rule was changed to such an occurrence being ruled an incomplete pass instead of a safety? Was that immediately after that 1945 Title Game? Thanks for any information that you can provide.
Sincerely,
Joe Zagorski

The rule was changed in 1946.
You'll find it in this chronology of rules changes:

"After the game, Redskins owner George Preston Marshall was so incensed at the outcome that he became a driving force in passing a major rule change after the season - a forward pass that strikes the goal posts is automatically ruled incomplete. This rule eventually became known as the "Baugh/Marshall Rule...."
