Hey Guys,
Can any of you tell me who the Miami Dolphins offensive line coach was in 1992? Thanks!

John Sandusky

Sandusky was considered a talented assistant. Long-time New York Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi once called him "the greatest coach in the history of the league that never got a chance".[1]

Sandusky appears near the end of the SBV highlight film....he is giving instructions to Tom Goode before O'Brien's last FG attempt. He is concerned with the Cowboys overloading one side of the formation so he tells Tom Goode to tell everyone to not get set until right before the snap, to which Goode immediately turns to his teammates and says "Don't git set til I holla set!". Incredible stuff. Then a low-level panic breaks out as people realize that Bubba Smith may not be able to comprehend this, so everyone tells Tom "make sure Bubba knows", "go tell Bubba", etc. In some other NFL Films segment that was very good, Steve Sabol mentioned that Don McCafferty didn't do anything in Super Bowl V, and that deactivated 4th string QB George Mira actually called all the offensive plays...which is also incredible considering that both Morrall and Unitas had like 10 years more playing experience than Mira. That 1970n Colts team is one of my favorite teams of all-time, because it was such a mess.sheajets wrote:Sandusky was considered a talented assistant. That 1970 America's Game NFL Film on the Colts was one of the best of the series ... These guys knew that their team should have achieved more than they did from 1967 onward ... They still couldnt let go of SB III ...
