Victory over the New York Giants in 2012 ran Eagles record to 3-1. They would win one more game the rest of the season.
Some good points:
--Michael Vick was good moving around, holding on the ball, and running when necessary. His passing was sharp and precise;
--The secondary played well all day long; they held up late in the game despite those unjustified pass interference calls;
--Shady McCoy turned in another good rushing game;
--After some early problems, the pass protection was good. No doubt the running of McCoy kept the Giant defensive line honest.
The Bad Parts:
--Like I said the defense held up despite despite the poor coverage on kick offs. The Giant return men put them in a hole right from the start;
--There was also no pass rush. The defensive line at times hurried Eli Manning but teams win games with sacks. The coaches may have sacrificed the pass rush for both a better run defense and coverage of receivers.
--This one is the most important. Twice in the second half, at the start and of course late in the game, the Eagles settled for field goals with a first and goal inside the New York five. Philadelphia left points on the field and made winning more difficult.
