Micheal Vick was injured early in the home game with the Washington Redskins in week four and Kevin Kolb played most of the game. The 17 to 12 loss was the most costly one of 2010. The Eagles concentrated on stopping Donovan McNabb but forgot the Redskins had a ground game as well. Both Clinton Portis and Ryan Torraine had touchdown runs in the first quarter. Combined the two gained 125 running yards for the entire game. In the second quarter, the Eagles gave up a field goal, David Ackers kicked two, and Philadelphia pitched a shutout in the second half. The Redskins led 17 to 6 at halftime and the third quarter was scoreless.
On defense, the Eagles recovered after that rocky start; but Philadelphia wasn't moving the ball either. Eight penalties on us for 80 yards were speed bumps. In the fourth quarter, Kevin Kolb finally threw a touchdown pass to Brent Celek. However, the two point conversion attempt failed. With the Eagles behind 17 to 12 , a field goal was useless. The Eagles had the ball at the Washington 20 with less than one minute left. Kevin Kolb was a just little bit off on his pass to Jeremy Maclin. Maclin had tenuous hold on the ball in the end zone but the Redskins defender knocked the ball loose. Playing against Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia got over-hyped early and lost the game. This really hurt in the post-season.
