New England Patriots 2008 to 2010

Post by LeonardRachiele »

The New England Patriots did not win in the post season for the three above seasons.  Even with that, the Patriots have still been one of the best teams in the NFL.

2008-Game 15 at  Foxboro vs Arizona

A funny thing happened  to the Arizona Cardinals on their way to the Super Bowl.  New England destroyed them in the next to the last game of the regular season.   Matt Castle completed 20 of 36 passes for 345 yards and three touchdowns.  The Patriots held Arizona to 44 yards rushing and eight first downs.  Total yards were 514 to 186.  Patriots 47 Cardinals 7.

2009-Game 6 at Foxboro vs Tennessee

Both clubs rushed for an identical 193 yards.  Chris Johnson gained carried 17 times for 128 yards for the Titans.  Laurence Maroney carried 16 times for 123 yards for the Patriots.  That's were the similarity ended on one of the most one sided games in NFL history.  Tom Brady completed 38 of 45 passes for 432 yards and six touchdowns.   The Titans had minus 7 yards passing the the entire day.  Total yards were 619 to to 186.  Tennessee turned the ball over five times and had only nine first downs. Patriots 59 Titans 0.

In 2010, the New England Patriots defeated both teams that went to the Super Bowl-The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers

The greatest non-championship runs are obviously Grant and Levy's Vikings and Bills (4 SBs) and Reeves' Broncos (3 SBs). But, whereas, each unfortunately never won-it-all, Belichick achieved two separate 3-title runs while also having himself QUITE a non-championship nine-year ('05-thru-'13) doughnut-hole in between with plenty of icing and sprinkles! An undefeated regular season nestled right in there not too bad either!
