Noll created his team almost entirely from scratch. Lombardi is revered, but I think a 'good, hard look' at the facts would bring about a good debate as to which coach was better.

Excellent point. Noll built Steeler Nation. Cowher and Tomlin were/are average HC's that have been riding what he built for the last 30 years (Tomlin should have been fired five years ago).

I agree about Tomlin but felt Cowher replaced Noll nicely, carrying on the Steelers tradition of power running and physical blue-collar defense. Cowher was similar to Madden and Reid losing championship games but continued the Steeler Nation tradition ...
