The Sporting News

Post by Oszuscik »

Does anyone know of any online archives that have issues of The Sporting News? I'd love to be able to check out their Pro Football Yearbook issues from the '80s and '90s.

Go to Archive.org and search Sporting News. Also, Newspaperarchive.com has old issues under the state of Missouri and the city St Louis (not Saint Louis. They both are listed).

Thank you! I'll give both a try.

SABR members also get access through Paper of Record (https://paperofrecord.hypernet.ca/default.asp) with their membership.

If you are logged into your SABR account, go to the "Research Resources" page (https://profile.sabr.org/general/custom ... -resources) and look for the Paper of Record link. You don't need to create a Paper of Record account. Logging in through the SABR portal gets you access. SABR members also have free access to the basic tier of Newspapers.com

That is a huge tip -- thank you! The Sporting News was great in its day.
