[Gary Najman]

Shelby Jordan, a College Football Hall-of-Famer who played 11 years at tackle for the Patriots and Raiders, died late last week at 70.

Jordan attended Washington-St.Louis (I don't know if he is the only NFL player from that university, but I'm sure he is the last to make it). He won Super Bowl XVIII with the Raiders.

Marvin Powell, former tackle of the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1977-1987, died on September 30. He was 67 years old.

Powell is one of the 20 finalists for this year's HOVG class.
