Betting on a game continues to be a nightmare. Imagine taking the Ravens, Browns and Rams, thinking the game is in hand! The league, networks and vegas love these defensive "collapses".

What the league loves is parity. And I don't disagree with the league on that. In European soccer (for instance) the same teams win over and over and over and over, again. In Germany Bayern München has won Die Bundesliga something like 8 or 9 times in a row!

Nobody wants that here (well, except maybe fans of the NFC entry based in TX) so I'm glad the NFL takes measures to keep that sort of thing from happening.

Wasn't there a head coach or G.M. back in the '80s who said something along the lines of: "Pete Rozelle's dream is to have every team finish 8 - 8."?

A lot of teams so far look like they're capable of finishing within a ½ game of that mark by the end of the season.
