Interesting. I didn't know that one...but Peterson's record breaking game came in his 8th game, not his 9th!conace21 wrote:Adrian Peterson is one of the answers to #4. You're right. It came in Week 9 of the NFL season, but Minnesota had already had a bye week, so it was their 8th game.

Yes! That was the answer I was looking for. I remember watching that game...William Andrews was hurt and no one really knew anything about Gerald Riggs. The guy was immediately unstoppable. Riggs was really good his first few years, then I think he just got too beat up to be a regular 25-carry/game RB.Teo wrote:

Had Andrews not gotten hurt, what a backfield combo because he was also a willing blocker for Riggs. The Redskins were smart getting Riggs later, a HOVG case ...
