Matt, John is, indeed, most perceptive.

Actually one is my annual Christmas present from my parents so they pay for it, and by the time summer comes I buy myself a new one. Last count (Christmas this year) I have 18 of "The Duke"s in my house, at least one in every room (except the bathrooms), because I don't like being in a room where there isn't an official football to throw up to myself or to whoever else may be in the room at the moment. When I got my new one this past Christmas I showed my family it compared to my 3 other most recent balls and it was funny because they were four different colors. The 3 used balls all had a black "shield", instead of gold, and the oldest was dark brown, next two oldest were brown, and newest was bright and shiny, ha.

I've sent two back to get exchanged in the last 10 years, one because the laces - it was a left-handed football (ha) - and one because I took it out of the box and threw it up a few times and my hands weren't instantly turning red so they were clearly trying to sell me a previously used ball. Which obviously a new Wilson NFL football, your hands turn bright red throwing it around when it's new. Around 2010 or so I got a brush because I wanted to test brushing off the 'shine', didn't really do anything but make it worn-in quicker.
Matt, it's nice to see that you're gradually developing a real fondness for the game. :D
I don't even own a regulation NFL Football, nobody to play with. Although I do have a football shaped telephone and several ceramic mugs shaped like footballs (for display, not for drinking as they are very fragile and the brown paint would come off), and I have a Steelers Nerf football, again for display.

When there is no one around to throw to, don't underestimate the joy of throwing a football up to yourself while moving around the house, or while reclined in the recliner. Highly recommended. Have done it my entire life, as a kid it was with those nerf-style (though I don't think nerf was the company that made them?) NFL team colors and logo balls, late 80's through the 90's, those were amazing but I went through them so quick. Then of course switched to a real football around High School, which luckily my parents never really complained since in our family football is taken as serious as it's supposed to be. Of course at all my own houses since, NFL footballs are thrown around and anyone who comes through the door that isn't on board can walk right back out.

Football shaped telephone! That's awesome. I've always wanted one of those old draft helmet phones, though it doesn't really go with only having a cell phone, but still would be cool to have.

For your next party, Matt.

Better hurry. If the Osprey win again, that 50% off sign will probably disappear.

Ha. A fun off-season dead time topic might be to see what's the most ridiculous NFL/TEAM related product everyone has in their house. I'd need some time to think about it but there's definitely a decent amount of choices. I like my Seahawks helmet shower curtain rings so those aren't bad, though I'm not sure I need an electric carving knife with the Seahawks logo on it . . .

Regardless of team, the gridiron tablecloth is a "must."

I think the little beer jackets are cool - except the Seattle version should have #12.

But... no matter what... how do you top the following?

There is a guy down here somewhere that has a golf cart. The roof is a Yankees cap - nothing amazing there - but the body is "pinstripes." It actually looks great. Maybe I can find him and get a photo.

We must establish some "Rules" here so that there is no whining.

I suggest: No blow-up dolls or blow-up toys or items of any type.

My cousin has a golf cart with Seahawks colors and logos, and across the bottom is says LOB and has "31, 29, 25, 41", she was asked - and accepted - to be in and drive it in a local parade.
