Possible changes at HOF coming, outside chance of a small, pre'WWII class (been proposed)ChrisBabcock wrote:

for 60th anniversary.
Many proposals---not sure if they will occur... some will, serious consideration of 2-3
seniors per year. If not a small class, possible use of the 3rd slot for
"super senior" candidate. Maybe rotation of coach/contributor
All can do is hope. I do think 2 seniors per year is a lock.

based on previous discussions----seems that these 4 are the ones----most agree with,
that 5th one is usually different, maybe if these 4 get in, that cleans up that era--meaning
if there were just 4 slots, this might be the best 4

Dick Barwegan
Al Wistert
Lavvie Dilweg
Jim Ray Smith (though his last season was 1964, he was too good to still be on the outside looking in)
Riley Matheson

Its still hard to believe George Halas and Weeb Ewbank gave up on Barwegan. If he was so good did they do it for his own business interests or just wanted draft capital ? He was considered great in the AAFC as well.
Does Jim Ray Smith get downgraded because of other HOF players on the Browns ? Didnt that happen to Lou Rymkus as well ?
How good was Al Nesser and Dick Huffman ?

Wistert is great on the available film I've seen. So for many years he's been at the top of my list for this sort of criteria.

I wanted Howton as well but his last season was 1963 and thinking more about super-seniors ...
