Cooper Kupp's full season (21 games):
* 178 catches, 2,425 yards, 22 TD
* NFL regular season receiving triple crown
* 1st Team All-Pro
* Most catches in a single postseason (33)
* NFL Offensive Player of the Year
* Super Bowl MVP
Even before the playoffs started, Pro Football Outsiders had this article on Kupp's year, and by their metrics which go back to 1983, he ranks 1st in DYAR for receivers:

Obviously a lot of people here have been watching football for longer than that. And then there is change in era. Regardless, which all of the accolades, it would even be hard for me as a 49ers fan to argue against it. The only thing he didn't win is league MVP, which is basically impossible. This season and Jerry Rice's 1987 season (which he almost won the vote share) are probably the closest we'll see to a WR being able to get that award.
So is Cooper Kupp's 2021 campaign the greatest WR season?

Without thinking too much about it, it very well may be. Sort of a tangent, because I'm a nerd an a sucker for lists, I have an ongoing "greatest single season by jersey number" list that I revisit at the end of every year. I currently have Tarkenton 1975 as my #10. Kupp 2021 may beat that out. I've already replaced Kearse 1999 with T.J. Watt 2021 #90.

Do you have Obert Logan's 1967 season on your list?ChrisBabcock wrote:Without thinking too much about it, it very well may be. It's hard to argue because of Kupp's postseason success and just the sheer volume of games. The one season that came to my mind was Elroy Hirsch's 1951 season. He pulled off the quintuple receiving crown...most receptions, most yards, highest average, most TDs, longest TD. Hirsch scored on 17 receptions and averaged something like 50 yards per receiving TD. He also scored a TD in every game except one.Ness wrote:Cooper Kupp's full season (21 games):

Hirschs' 1951 receiving yards were 669 yards ahead of the the second most receiving yards. Those 669 receiving yards would be the 5th highest receiving yards for that season.Bryan wrote:It's hard to argue because of Kupp's postseason success and just the sheer volume of games.
