Historical Scouting Reports

Post by Reaser »

Ken Crippen and I - along with others as we get going - are working on a film study project for players who have been retired 25 or more years and have been or are possible candidates for the PFHOF.

What we'd like to do is quantify, document, and share how these players performed on the field. So we're going through the available film and putting that into historical scouting reports. We're in the early stages of putting this together and it's an ever-evolving project - in other words we'll continue to add to each players reports as we get through more games. You can view the progress and what we currently have up at http://www.kencrippen.com/historical-sc ... eports.htm.

In the coming weeks we'll be adding more information to the current players' reports, as well as adding reports for more players.

Over time it'll depend on how much film there is on a player whether it's a complete report, a nearly complete report, or just a snapshot of the type of player a given player was. I personally think it's all important and we hope the reports shed some light on how these men were performing on the field.

Ken was recently on an episode of Andy Carlson's "Football Convos" where he discussed what we're doing.

It is nice to see some positive things taking place.
In fact, this past weekend was the first in quite a while that we have not experienced another crash within
the web site - crashes that did not occur when Ken Crippen was running the show.
As your on-going project continues to expand, perhaps the Membership will again see and again appreciate
the value of a dedicated group and the leadership that was provided by Ken for a long time in past years.
Some will never understand why the executive-proclaimed "junta" kicked Ken Crippen to the curb.
Keep up the great work and never mind the nay-sayers.
"It was a different game when I played.
When a player made a good play, he didn't jump up and down.
Those kinds of plays were expected."
