Now Bell has been released by the Ravens, an opportunity that could have resurrected his career. Can he ever get untracked again ? Or his desire completely gone ?

I've never seen a RB come back from as low a point. Would love to hear an example of a formerly elite back bouncing around multiple teams then suddenly becoming elite again.Brian wolf wrote:Now Bell has been released by the Ravens, an opportunity that could have resurrected his career. Sproles came close but more of a great all-purpose back than an elite runner. Calvin Hill never was elite but became an excellent receiver for Cleveland later on.

Lenny Moore had some down years and bounced back with a big year in 1964. Larry Csonka went from multiple teams/leagues before having a nice season in 1979. Maybe Ottis Anderson?JameisLoseston wrote:Would love to hear an example of a formerly elite back bouncing around multiple teams then suddenly becoming elite again.

Hopefully, a team will take a chance on Gurley by the end of the year. I know I am crazy but you heard it here first. I believe by playoff time the Buccaneers will try to sign Julian Edelman if his knee can pass a physical ...

What would we need Julian Edelman for with AB back and healthy? I don't think he wants to play for us anyways.

Garrison Hearst and Terry Allen were examples of backs that bounced around with other teams and then produced some very good to great seasons. Both bounced back from terrible knee injuries and showed alot of grit and toughness. Take away their injuries and both backs could have had close to, or over 10,000 rushing yards.

Re: Todd Gurley and Le'veon Bell
A lot of really good running backs had some great years and then tapered off. John Brockington, Christian Okoye, Joe Cribbs, Priest Holmes -- just a few off the top of my head. We all loved watching these guys play but they all might end up in a similar category historically with Gurley and Bell.

Holmes was a great example of a free agent back that went from being good with his original team to great for another team. He was rolling along with KC before getting derailed by injuries. A complete back as well.

He really was an underappreciated player.
