Mike, have you seen when it'll be available to watch; dvd, online, etc ... ?

Have read about the game before (believe there's a PFRA or Coffin Corner article on it?) but looks to be some film of the team, surely will be photos, and I personally like reenactments of the era (w/uniforms, etc) ... So it looks interesting enough.

My copy came over the holiday and I really enjoyed it - although the more I look into it the less I think the point about defeating the World Champion New York Giants is valid - the Giants as a team never did a California swing although some NY Giants joined up with other pros as Ernie Nevers Giants or Imlay Nevers Giants - someone had a set of programs for those games for sale on ebay

One other piece of information I found today in a December 1927 Frankford Yellow Jackets program

Good stuff, Moran.

I have a vague memory of this discussion making it's way into another thread and we had more info about the claim.

Thanks for posting the programs.

My copy of the film should be here this week (maybe next) ...

My copy arrived this morning. For an independent, hour long film I'd say it was pretty well done. Interesting enough. WIsh they had spent more time on the actual game, though. I also found it interesting that the NY Giants apparently ignored all requests to be interviewed for the film?

Putting aside that based on this thread and the other thread that I can't remember where it pretty much showed that they weren't exactly playing the "World Champion" NY Giants, it's an interesting story/film. There's enough facts and newspaper clippings to enjoy. Plus of course after I finished it, it made me look up some of the players involved with the Hominy team to find out more about their football careers.

There is.... Arthur Shoemaker, in 1992, in the article "Hail to the real 'redskins' "
