Kicking Oddities

Post by rhickok1109 »

Two games yesterday ended with the same rather odd score, 25-22. The Packers beat the Bengals in OT and the Patriots beat the Texans on a FG with 15 seconds left.

There were kicking oddities in both games. The Packer-Bengal game feature 5 consecutive missed FG attempts, 3 of them by Mason Crosby, who also missed an extra point. Crosby had been successful on 27 straight FG attempts, including his first 2in yesterday's game, and he had missed a total of only 2 attempts over the previous two seasons. (He also kicked the winning FG from 49 yards out yesterday.)

In the Patriots-Texans game, there were 3 consecutive missed PAT attempts, 2 by Houston and 1 by the Patriots.

Rodrigo Blankenship also ended up having a game to forget on Monday Night against the Ravens.
