2021 Chiefs and 2000 Rams

Post by 7DnBrnc53 »

The 2021 Chiefs seem like the 2000 Rams all over again.

The Chiefs are on pace to score 536 points this year, and to allow 652. The 2000 Rams didn't give up 500 points (471), but they allowed the most points in the NFL (just like the Chiefs are on pace to do this year).

I see a lot of the 86 Dolphins in them.

Prodigial QB with a great coach who'd had success the previous few years with a great offense and good enough defense. Wheels fall off on the defense and they struggle. Those Dolphins led the league in points(these Chiefs are 5th) but they allowed the 3rd most. They went 8-8.

Well, the Chiefs certainly don't look very good right now. That is for sure. And I read that Patrick Mahomes' H-U-G-E contract doesn't even kick in until next season! What are the "Chefs" going to be able to surround Patrick Mahomes with once that happens? Some scantily-clad cheerleaders and a few drunken fans?

Sounds like Thanksgiving at my Uncle Snuffy's house.

For bettors, this years Chiefs team are playing a version of Russian Roulette. You know there is a bullet in the barrel where the offensive team can put 40 points on a defense but can they cover a spread with their own defense ? They have failed to cover 10 of their last 12 games since last year including the playoffs I think but each game you wonder when that bullet is going to go off and the defense can help them at least cover the bet ?

I also thought about the 1986 Dolphins when thinking about the Chiefs on Sunday night.

As a Bronco fan, I hope so. That was the first of four straight years out of the playoffs for the Dolphins. Don't see that happening in KC (they may miss this year, though), but it would be awesome if it did.
