Jackson is my favorite Senior regardless of position, but I think that he will have to wait a long time. It's a shame that many Seniors have been inducted/nominated recently just after they died (Richter, Stanfel, Stabler, Dillon and now Branch).Brian wolf wrote:Does the election of Carmichael, Pearson and Branch help Jackson now ... or hinder him ?

Matthews, Baughan and Meador were all finalistsShrevedude wrote:Some questions that race through my mind...
1. Did I hear correctly that the 1st runner-up was Klecko?
2. Were Clay Matthews and Maxie Baughan among the 15 senior finalists, not on the list last year? (This is Clay's first year in the senior abyss)
3. I heard Eddie Meador was a finalist, and there was a strong push for him. Did I hear/interpret correctly?
4. Who else made the list who didn't make it last year?

Re: Branch and Vermeil are the picks
I thought that Clay Matthews was still eligible in 2022 on the regular committee, as he last played in 1996. Demarcus Ware, who will be eligible for the first time, last played in 2016.JohnTurney wrote:Matthews, Baughan and Meador were all finalistsShrevedude wrote:Some questions that race through my mind...

I don't know if that is known---but he was in top 5, but thenJohnTurney wrote: 1. Did I hear correctly that the 1st runner-up was Klecko?
they go to top 3. so He was likely top 3 and other on is likely Howley in top 3
Howley, Baughan, Hayes, Klecko, and Branch top 5 . . . pretty sure, it's not official
so don't quote me as official source.

I learned my lesson John ... haha
Everybody gets excited about who came close but the deck will be reshuffled next year.

This does not bode well for George Kunz and LC Greenwood, the two seniors who made the Top 12 short list last year who did not make the Top 16 this year...
Kunz was fifth on the list last year, now he didn't make it at all...

Re: Branch and Vermeil are the picks
Though his postseason TDs were in SBs, which never hurts, his catches and yardage were excellent and his game against Blount in the 74/75 AFC Champ was spectacular but Snake had to force throws because the running game was shut down ...

For Dolphins fans, who could forget Branch's spectacular TD "non catch" that hurt them in the great Sea Of Hands Game ?
