Hey Guys,
In 1973, Bruce Jarvis was listed as the starting center for the Buffalo Bills. From what I could discover, he started the first eight games that year, sustained an injury, then was replaced by Mike Montler. Does anyone know what type of injury Jarvis had? Also -- if it can be found -- can you discover how he got injured? Was he hit hard by an opponent? Did he suffer his injury in practice? I have been unsuccessful in getting Jarvis to return my phone calls, so I really need your help. Thanks so much guys!
Sincerely,
Joe Zagorski

Re: Bruce Jarvis Injury
He had suffered a knee injury the year before, and I think that eventually led to his early retirement. I'd recommend Sal Mairoana's book "Relentless." It covers the first 35 seasons of the Bills and has a lot of tidbits. Details of Montler replacing Jarvis might well be in there.

2020 interview with Jarvis here. He had a knee injury that never got better.
