Find a photo, please...

Hello, gentlemen.
I'm the graphic artist and researcher for the GUD.
As you know, part of our site is dedicated to displaying the uniform matchups for all games back to 1932.
We have photographic evidence - largely newspaper photos - for every game back through and including 1956.
One, in particular, vexes me to no end.
On October 7, 1950, the Steelers hosted the Browns in Forbes Field for the first ever meeting between the teams.
Due to the use of the white football for night games, we are assuming the Steelers wore their typical black jerseys with yellow helmets and pants.
The Browns likely were forced to wear orange helmets, brown jerseys, and the ever-mysterious 'silver' pants.
The reason we have not been able to find a photo for the game is that the Pittsburgh papers were all on strike and the Cleveland Plain Dealer and Post did not publish photos with articles about the game on either October 8 or 9.
We have been trying to locate someone associated with the Browns organization in some capacity as Team Historian or Public Relations, etc, that would be able to either help us outright or at least steer us in the right direction.

Help us, PFRA, you're our only hope...

In the furniture industry, GUD stands for Grandma's Underwear Drawer. It's the bottom right-hand drawer in a dresser.

There are a few videos of the 1950 Browns on YouTube, including the later matchup against the Steelers....maybe you could piece things together from other games? Uniforms wouldn't have changed much during the season.

Also, if you have access to Newsbank through your local library, you might be able to find something on a national level....also, have you tried the Pittsburgh Courrier?...not sure if they would have been on strike at the same time, but it seems plausible that they wouldn't have been.....Last idea I thought of would be to check a 1951 annual for photos from the previous season or a team media guide for possible photos....I know the Steelers would have had them back then, not sure about the Browns....hope this helps a bit....

Thanks for the tips, guys.
Doing our research, out-of-town night games did not get much - if any - traction on the national level.
And yes... the Post-Gazette, the Press, the Sun-Telegraph, and all of the others in Pittsburgh were out of commission beginning October 2nd (P-G) and 3rd (P & S-T) due to the Mailers Union going on strike.
The strike lasted until November 20 when the Press was the first paper to return to print.

I guess my next bet is to search for a 1951 Media Guide to check for photos.
