The Hall Of Fame is rightly about players and coaches.
Most of the head coaches that get recognition are deserving but in the future when the coaches category becomes exhausted from viable candidates, career assistants will also hopefully, get their day in the sun.
Hopefully one day, Alex Gibbs as an offensive line coach will get his day in the sun. A great advocate for zone-blocking, running attacks, his teams could beat you with smarts and quickness, rather than size.
I am hoping the HOVG can take the lead and allow career assistants like Gibbs, Ramsey, Shaughnessy, Arnsparger, Carson, Houk and others to get the recognition that will finally carry over into election into the HOF at the appropriate time.
RIP Alex Gibbs

Re: Alex Gibbs - Career Assistant Recognition
Bugel was top-notch as well. Lots of great career assistants/coordinators. Alex Gibbs learned alot from Jim McNally, the line coach of the Bengals in the 80s ...
