I don't know if it was his fastest time, but this blurb about OJ when he was at USC says "ran the 100 yard dash in 9.4 seconds and the 40 in 4.5 (wearing football shoes, no less)"

Participants in the NFL combine have to wear football shoes, so it's really not unusual.

Joe, I can’t wait to read your upcoming book on the ‘73 Bills, a very underrated team. I also just picked up a copy of your book “The NFL in the 1970s.” My love of the NFL started in that era and there were so many great teams and even better personalities!

Something I just found about the 1973 BIlls is that they drafted in the 15th round LB Joe Rizzo, who played for the Denver Broncos in the mid to late 70s. Did Rizzo was cut or traded by the Bills?

True, I didn't really understand the context of that quote. Maybe if it said OJ ran it barefoot like Russ Francis, or in clown shoes instead of football shoes, then I would be impressed.

It simply amazes me, Buffalo's second game vs Miami in '73! OJ rushes for 120 yards, Braxton for 119, and not only do they lose (yet AGAIN to the Dolphins), but get...SHUT-OUT???

Yes, this is the '73 Dolphins we're discussing, but still.
