Gregg Bingham
Solid linebacker. I believe he led the Oilers in tackles every year of his career except for a strike year, even though there were 3 HOFs on that defense. Excellent all-around player.

Re: Gregg Bingham
John Turney (whose opinion I trust impeccably) has Bingham listed as the 74th best MLB/ILB of All-Time:

It would be interesting to nominate him for the HoVG and see what the consensus might be.
As always, it would depend on who else was nominated at the same time...

I'm sorry, anyone who is listed 27 spots behind Joe Glockenspiel is not deserving of HOVG status!JuggernautJ wrote:John Turney (whose opinion I trust impeccably) has Bingham listed as the 74th best MLB/ILB of All-Time:

Bingham does have a very high INT total for a MLB/ILB, but the total lack of honors is Edelman-esque. Bingham was a good player, but I'd probably rate a guy like Dan Conners a notch above Bingham. Does anyone remember when the Steelers had an ILB #54 named Craig Bingham at the same time? Very confusing.

Nominate him this year and see what type of interest he draws.GameBeforeTheMoney wrote:Solid linebacker. I believe he led the Oilers in tackles every year of his career except for a strike year, even though there were 3 HOFs on that defense. Excellent all-around player.

Re: Gregg Bingham
Sometime soon (I think) Andy Piascik (head of the HoVG Committee) will post a notice here.GameBeforeTheMoney wrote:How do I nominate someone? I'm new here.

Last year nominations were due by April 30th.
Any "dues paying member" may nominate up to five players for consideration for "our Hall" by messaging or emailing the nominations to Andy. If I recall correctly, the only requirement is that a player be retired for 25 years.
