Thursday Night Football
Thursday Night Football
Only in this day and age is a game played on a Saturday night called "Thursday Night Football."
Re: Thursday Night Football
Hey, if the NFL says it's Thursday, it's Thursday, and that's that.
Re: Thursday Night Football
I believe when Thursday night football started in 1978 it was branded as something like "Monday Night Football - Thursday Night edition" or some such thing.
So technically, this was really "Monday Night Football - Thursday Night edition - special Saturday presentation!"

As Evan mentioned, I don't this isn't unique to current times. I get it from a branding perspective, the "show" is "Thursday NIght Football", just so happens the last two games were on Saturday. It's dumb, but I get it.
Reminds me of a phone conversation with a girl a couple years back, she asked what I was doing and I replied with "watching Monday Night Countdown" and she was completely confused and didn't get it because it was a Thursday. Though that was preseason.
