1976: Giants 3rd down and 55 yards to go
I was watching a recap and in the Giants-Eagles game NY had a first down and 10 that according to the narration ultimately resulted in a 3rd down and 55 play. Anyone have any clue as the how the Giants lost those 45 yards?

Lost 5 yards on a fumbled pitch out.
Holding Penalty.
Personal Foul for unnecessary roughness.
Incomplete pass (no yards lost.)
Clipping penalty.
Then had a 7 yard run on third down and punted.
I think the Giants had a 3rd and 51 or so in the 1962 NFL Championship game.

Is it just me, or does the title of this thread sound like it should be the lyrics of a sad country-western song? "...and now it's third down and 55 yards to go....My baby don't love me no mo'...". Of course, it'll need some references to trains and whiskey and pickups to make it a real C/W song.
For that matter, the title of another recent thread, "Kamara's Big Christmas," sounds like it could be an after-school special.

In their 1972 loss to the Steelers, the Patriots had a third-and-55.
