What SHOULD the League do about the Ravens and Broncos situa
Not the politics, but what's the most fair thing to do from a league fairness perspective. If you were the Steelers (who have their own smaller outbreak) - would you want to play a team that has new outbreaks every day?
Re: What SHOULD the League do about the Ravens and Broncos s
I'd wear goggles and a mask if I was a Steelers player worried about the Ravens. If goggles were good enough for Eric Dickerson, they're good enough for me. I'd also put tape over the ear holes.
As for the Broncos, if they followed protocol, they would not be in this mess. The Saints already flew into Denver. To postpone or cancel the game due to the stupidity of the other team is not fair to the Saints.

With the Ravens now having 18 players on the "covid reserve" list and the game still on as scheduled for Tuesday, it seems like the threshold of caution has changed and the rules have changed now that there aren't any more bye weeks to move games to.

Apparently Denver will start practice squad WR Kendall Fuller at QB. Will be fascinating to see what they do on offense. Probably could have made a lot of money betting that this game would be Taysom Hill versus Kendall Fuller.

Reminds me of that 1965 Colts-Packers game when Tom Matte was forced to play QB.
Re: What SHOULD the League do about the Ravens and Broncos s
Even with a lot of 3-and-outs, one would think the Broncos will run 50 plays at least.
I will take a guess at the rushing attempts.
Kendall Hinton- 8
Phillip Lindsay- 12
Melvin Gordon- 14
Royce Freeman- 6
Jerry Jeudy- 6
Passing attempts
Kendall Hinton- 15
Freeman- 2
Jeudy- 2
Figure there could be two or three sacks too.

I overshot the Jeudy thing. I thought they could have run some jet sweeps with him.
The results-
rushes
Gordon- 12
Lindsay- 9
Freeman- 8
Hinton- 2
Hamler- 2
throws
Hinton- 9

I wonder if the statisticians will charge Hinton with a QB start in this game. He was not on the field on Denver's first play from scrimmage. Lindsay took the snap. Like that game in Washington when Mohamed Sanu was under center and then threw a touchdown pass, I'm guessing Hinton will still go down as the starter at quarterback. Maybe not, though.
edited due to me not initially recalling Dalton was split wide. He was on top of the TV screen.

Actually, as weird as is sounds, Lindsey will get credited with the start. Matt Cassel Took the first snap of the season for the Bills in 2015 against the Colts. He had a 1-0 record as a starter for the Bills that year... with no other stats.JWL wrote:I wonder if the statisticians will charge Hinton with a QB start in this game. I wonder if that was because Cassel was a quarterback. Mark Sanchez started a Week 17 game against Buffalo in 2010, handed off a few times, and then exited while healthy. Sanchez threw 0 passes and got credit for the win.
Lindsay did not really perform as a quarterback today although he did take some shotgun snaps and then handed off to Gordon. The only guy who resembled a modern day quarterback was Hinton.
Dalton ended up getting credited with that start years ago instead of Sanu because the statisticians argued the first scrimmage play was a trick play and the Cincinnati intentions were to play with Dalton as the quarterback.
We shall see soon enough either way.
