I was just going to say something similar...

Like anything else, in order to view statistics correctly and objectively we must consider context.
It is like trying to use stats to compare Don Hutson to a plethora of modern day receivers.
Without context and understanding one will come to some obviously erroneous conclusions...

Like that Flacco was a better QB than Montana because he "threw for more yards...."

As historians it is kind of our job to provide... and understand, that context.

I guess we have a new Joe Cool in the house! Is Joe Burrow the new Broadway Joe, then?

But in all seriousness, although somewhat off topic as Flacco played on a lot of fairly good Ravens teams, this is the epitome of the depreciation of volume passing in general during the 2010s. From a historical perspective, Flacco is probably among the least productive "franchise" QBs of all time, somewhere between Andy Dalton above him and Dan Pastorini below. I am certainly not of the Wacco for Flacco crowd, and the fact that he's passing Joe Montana at anything is both a complete joke and an indispensable harbinger of things to come.

Meanwhile, things on the season leaderboard have stabilized a bit, with Pat, Josh, and Russ in the top 4, but Matt Ryan, whose current season isn't half as good as his 2016 or 18, is still in the lead. As for Tom... he doesn't deserve it.

And of course, no QB leading the league in passing yards has ever won a Super Bowl in the season in which they were the leader. And I believe the 1999 Rams were the only ones to do it as a team.

That almost sounds like pure coincidence. I would imagine many have come very close. Like Peyton in his record year.
