Wish Gizmo Williams hadn't been so fun to watch (or that EE didn't have the same colors as the HS football team I grew up watching), might not have picked them as my favorite CFL team little over three decades ago. Was fun while it lasted.

The current Eskimos club has been around since 1949. The original Edmonton Eskimos changed their name to the Edmonton Elks in 1922:

Really enjoyed watching Gizmo Williams every time he touched the ball. Elks would be my choice since they've used it before. Ha Ha .. The matter of the CFL's Rough Riders and Roughriders used to be good for an occasional laugh (mainly American) until the Ottawa franchise folded after their 125th season in 1996. Interesting that the NFL decided to rename the Oilers as the Titans in a new city. I get it, but it's not like anyone these days questions why the basketball teams in LA and Utah are the Lakers and the Jazz.
