Welp it is the Chiefs vs 49ers. Definitely an interesting match-up as the Chiefs are definitely one of those new-age teams where their team revolves entirely around their QB where as the 49ers resemble some of those old Giants or Redskin type teams from the '80's and '90's that definitely weren't as flashy but was probably overall a bit more of a complete package than those teams with all world quarterbacks.
I'm going to go with the 49ers by 10. Think they just have an all around better team and I think they will be able to match-up enough with the Chiefs offense to where KC won't be able to match them score for score.

50 years ago the Chiefs won Super Bowl IV. 25 years after that, the 49ers won Super Bowl XXIX. Now 25 years after that the Chiefs and the 49ers play for Super Bowl LIV. I post all that to say it means nothing but I found it interesting.

I guess Montana will do the coin toss, since he played for both teams.
Will Len Dawson be named an honorary-captain for KC (like Roger was in the ’92 AFCCG)?

P. Mahomes is the great equalizer in this matchup. It should be a good one.

I don't know about the score, but I predict this will be the highest rated Super Bowl ever, eclipsing the 114.4 million for XLIX (New England v. Seattle).

How's this for a bizarre stat: The two previous times that the Raiders relocated (after '81 and '94), the SB champion was ... the 49ers.

I'm surprised the Chiefs are favored (by 1). With the over/under currently at 54.5 (it started at 51 right after the NFCCG), KC is basically thus far 'expected' to win by a score of 28-27. This is definitely a contrast-of-styles! Definitely a matchup to look forward to! But I myself seem to be leaning toward SF winning by just over a TD. Chiefs' defense definitely has improved as the season rolled on. Their D, to me, seems better going into this matchup than the '99 Rams D looked going into their own SB vs Tenn. KC's offense quite Mahomes-heavy. Perhaps too much so, though I think they'll have their moments vs that San Fran D. I don't at all envision a Super Bowl resembling that of XIX nor XLVIII.

If I were the Defensive Coordinator for the Chiefs, I would do everything possible to stop the 49ers running game and trust my chances by putting the ball in the hands of Garoppolo.

This will be the 54th Super Bowl in which no Texas Longhorn product scored a touchdown.
