Blue Ribbon Committee, to me, did fine job
For me, and it's just my view, they got about 90 of the 100 right, and maybe 10 guys left off that should be on, with 10 that were overrated to some degree.
And the HOF Blue Ribbon Committee did a fine job to.
Given the nature of committees, I was not expecting results this good. But I was pleasantly surprised by both committees.

We can all nitpick but in general I concur.
Now, let's see who gets into the Hall of Fame in January....
(fingers crossed)

Would have to give it more though, off top of head, take off Atkins, Upshaw, Lechler, Shell, Hirsch, Marino, replace them with Watt (or Strahan or Youngblood), Joe D, Hekker, Dierdorf, TO, Rodgers....and there would maybe be a few others Faulk and LT should be on it, Irewing84 wrote: good points john which ten would you take off and which ten would you add

I'd have Bronko Nagurski on the team. I think that was a big miss. In fairness, not having a fullback category hurt his chances.

I agree about Nagurski. I think he's kind of a glaring omission. I also agree about Atkins being a poor choice, and maybe some of the others John listed. But I like the choice of Lechler, and would've voted for him, though of course I had no vote.

I would agree with that---maybe they had too few RBs given the nature of the game for the first 80 years.TanksAndSpartans wrote:I'd have Bronko Nagurski on the team. I think that was a big miss. In fairness, not having a fullback category hurt his chances.

What did Marino ever do to you? Agree with the rest of the missed picks though. I'd do Brees over Rodgers though who looks to be past his prime already.JohnTurney wrote:Would have to give it more though, off top of head, take off Atkins, Upshaw, Lechler, Shell, Hirsch, Marino, replace them with Watt (or Strahan or Youngblood), Joe D, Hekker, Dierdorf, TO, Rodgers....and there would maybe be a few others Faulk and LT should be on it, Irewing84 wrote: good points john which ten would you take off and which ten would you add

I agree. FB is a relevant position.TanksAndSpartans wrote:I'd have Bronko Nagurski on the team. I think that was a big miss. In fairness, not having a fullback category hurt his chances.
Also to me, where was Antonio Brown? Forget the off-the-field mess, but how is he not a Top 10 WR of all-time?
