most consecutive completions by non-QB?

Post by Bryan »

Bob Parsons completed 6 fake punt passes in a row during the 1976 and 1977 seasons. That is the most I can find. John David Crow completed 5 HB option passes in a row during the 1962 season. That is the second-most I can find (and most by a RB). Does anyone have any research/info on this topic?

good stuff----but I wish I could help

In the 1950s a lot of Rbs threw, as you know...

I know Hekker ended his high passer rating by throwing a pick vs Pitt

Consecutive completions can be pretty fluky, especially for non-quarterbacks, but the passing record that impresses me most (in this category) belongs to Frank Gifford. Over the course of his career he threw 63 passes, so it's a fairly good sample size, and his stats are excellent across the board: 13 yards per attempt, 14 TDs against 6 interceptions, and a rating of 92.5.

Gifford was a single-wing tailback at USC and completed more than 50% of his passes.
