There were also three players who came one season to the NFL and then returned to the CFL:

- Ken Clark, the Rams punter in 1979 and Súper Bowl XIV, he had a long career in Canada.
- Zenón Andrusyshyn, the Chiefs punter in 1978. He also played in the USFL.
- Tom Clements, the Chiefs quarterback for a year, had a Hall of Fame career in Canada.

Correct, but owner Nelson Skalbania's overspending resulted in the team essentially folding after the '81 season and then becoming the Concordes--before becoming the Alouettes again in 1986  Like the NFL did with the Browns, the CFL considers the Alouttes original records as being connected to the current franchise.

Interestingly, Skalbania almost sold the team to Pat Bowlen, who I assume walked away after taking a look at the books. Then, George Allen was set to become majority owner before more financial messes became evident. Allen quickly resurfaced in the USFL and Bowlen bought the Broncos two years later.

Didn't Sports Illustrated do a cover story about Allen taking over the Alouettes/Concordes? And didn't Skalbania own the BC Lions in the 90s? I recall they brought in Mark Gastineau at some point, correct???

Skalbania technically owned BC for a few months but the CFL quickly took away after about five months because he had put no money into the team--Deja vu all over again. Gastineau was on BC's roster for a few weeks in 1990 before being released.

Here's the Allen article:

thanks for the link to that story. After reading the portion about Ferragamo, my memory seems to think that the scuttlebutt about his CFL downfall was that he had trouble dealing with the 5th defensive back that the CFL has.
