I'm reminded of how he basically built the bulk of the Broncos soon-powerhouse lineup in his five seasons with the team--only to get bounced because of a player mutiny. Red Miller was the beneficiary.

Howard Cassady, Heisman Trophy winner (1955), former halfback with the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles died on September 20, at the age of 85:
Technically not an NFL death since he never took a snap in an official league game, but former Ole Miss QB Jevan Snead was found dead on Saturday at the age of 32. He was cut by Tampa Bay after going undrafted, after having ignored a suggestion to stay in school another year:
Tommy Brooker kicked the game-winning field goal for the Dallas Texans 20-17 win over the Houston Oilers in the 1962 AFL Championship game. It came in the second overtime.
