If that's the case, then I just emailed Andy with a nomination for Nick Lowery, who retired in 1996.Saban wrote:I think that you just have to be a retired pro football player to be eligible for the HOVG.

Retired for 25 years (same as seniors nominees for the HOF). Also, you do not have to just be a player. We also consider coaches.Saban wrote:I think that you just have to be a retired pro football player to be eligible for the HOVG.

Didn't know about the 25 year rule. Forgot to mention coaches.

Yep. So all players retired before 1994 are eligible for this year.Saban wrote:Ken Crippen wrote:Retired for 25 years (same as seniors nominees for the HOF). Re: 2019 HOVG nominees
As usual, I made my nominations on the last possible day... if you haven't made yours yet you better hurry!
Ron McDole (again)
Rosey Taylor
Tom Matte
Abner Haynes
Roy Jefferson
It seems to get harder every year as most of the folks I think of are already in one of the Halls or have been nominated already.
Case in point: Both Roger Craig and Jethro Pugh were at the top of my list for 2019.
I think both those guys need to be in "our" Hall asap!
