2015 PFHOF Contributor Finalists

Former PFRA member Ron Wolf and former NFL GM Bill Polian have been named the two PFHOF Contributor finalists for 2015. We will find out in February if one or both make it into the HOF.

It would be pretty embarrassing to the HOF if neither make it. They specifically create this category to bring attention to contributors and take away a senior candidate in the process. You are guaranteed that at least one will make it.

I know they took away a senior candidate for this year and next year they'll be back to 2, but with only one contributor. Then they will flip flop which category gets 2 or 1 for 5 years. I forget, after the 5 year period will each category get 2 nominees each or just one. I know its going to be an equal number going forward.

I'm aware of that and I think it was a really bad move by the HOF. I'd love to see them embarrassed, but I'm sure it won't happen.

Well, not necessarily. The PFOHF itself or any of its employees do not vote on who makes it in to the Hall. They merely process the votes and take care of the rest. Wolf and Polian will be voted on and require an 80% yes vote just like any other nominee any other year.

aha... I see in the above link my question was answered in regards to the number of senior and contributor nominees in future years.

I think that it is the HOF that selects the selectors.

Yes, that's what I think, too, but I can't find anything to back up that thought.

But if that's so, and the selectors are beholden to the HOF board, then it's likely that they will choose a contributor whether they really feel it's right or not.
