A couple others from 1968:

- Marlin Briscoe makes his AFL debut at quarterback on September 29, 1968. On October 6, 1968 he becomes the first African American starting QB in the modern era of American professional football:

"Briscoe made history that day by becoming the first African American to play quarterback in the American Football League. He furthered his legacy one week later when he started at quarterback against the Cincinnati Bengals. By taking over the reins for the Broncos, Briscoe became the first African American starting quarterback in modern pro football history."

- Pete Liske becomes the first pro quarterback to complete back to back 4,000 yard passing seasons on October 26, 1968

It's also interesting to note that on September 29 as Marlin Briscoe was making his AFL debut, Pete Liske threw for a Western Conference record 553 yards in a wild 38-35 Calgary win over Saskatchewan. Liske threw for 403 yards in the second half alone as the game produced 1,021 yards of total offense. Incredibly neither CBC or CTV opted to show this game between the top 2 teams in the West - the only weekend CFL game that wasn't televised:

One year later Briscoe would ask for his release from the Broncos. Liske jumped league's and signed with Denver, taking over for an injured Steve Tensi in Week 2.
