Perhaps there could be numerous seasons that are ‘tied’ for this, but does anyone know the soonest in a regular season in which each and every team already lost their first game?
Thanks!
“No more undefeated teams” already

A quick check shows that the most recent time that every team had lost once by the end of week 3 was 1961 (at least in the NFL).

Nice knowledge drop! Even with only 14 teams at the time, the mathematical odds of this happening can’t be all that good. Now double, or more than double, the amount of teams and the unlikeness so much more so. I thought not too long ago, within the last ten years, a first loss for each team may have occurred by Week #5, maybe even #4. I notice that wiki shows week-by-week division leaders with their W/L records in the real early years, as the case with ’61, but not recent years. I don’t believe that there’s a site that’ll show standings for each and every week.Citizen wrote:A quick check shows that the most recent time that every team had lost once by the end of week 3 was 1961 (at least in the NFL).
