We'll never go back to the wild west headhunting days but this won't be the NFL of the future. The league is at a critical turning point now with public sentiment lining up against it for the first time, aside from the anthem protests it's also the ticky-tacky pass interference, the babying of quarterbacks, what is a catch/what isn't a catch.
I think the NFL was serious about getting rid of kickoffs at one point but I just don't see it happening. Next year we'll get a more cut and dry ruling of what a catch is and I feel they'll let cornerbacks be a bit more physical with receivers. There is a lot of dissatisfaction with the product now and the league is going to listen to its paying customers.
