Not quite the career his father had but injuries perhaps a detriment to his ceiling being reached. He did make the Pro Bowl in 2000 and in ’06, now with the Bears, it was very well argued that he should have been the starter instead of Grossman. What are all your thoughts and takes on his NFL career, what could have been?

I think injuries were an issue, Griese had a very promising start to his career with Denver. I don't recall Griese being regarded at the level his dad was coming out of college, but bloodlines can't be ignored, you knew he would have a professional approach to the game. He also saw his father succeed in broadcasting, so probably was smart to leave the game when he did for the next chapter of his life.

I'm not sure about the professional approach, given the fact that he had several notable drinking episodes.

In retrospect, Griese was good enough in college to keep Tom Brady on the bench. You can't really argue with the decision, as they won the National Championship.

I remember being very impressed when Griese came back from a separates throwing shoulder to lead a late drive to beat Oakland on MNF in 2000.
