A player on the winning team of this game would go on to play against Randy Moss, both on opposite sides of the ball, both as starters.
Took me a while to nail this one down. It's the Redskins-Vikings game of 1984. Joe Jacoby and Daryl Grant were the two linemen who scored. Archie Manning once faced Bobby Bell and Daryl Green once faced Randy Moss. Good one!
Correct!

In this game two players with the same name (playing for each of these teams) caught passes, and both the leading rushers for each team in this game finished in the top 5 in the NFL in rushing yards the same season a few years earlier. Which is the game and who are the four players in question?

Got one.... (it may be easy)
In this game the losing team’s starting RB would set his team’s record for rushing yards in a game. The winning team’s QB would later in his career play for the losing team, and lead that team to a league championship.
Anyone want to take a stab at this one?

Teo still has a question as well.

The league championship in question was not an NFL championship.

I thought I had it. In 1961, the Bills lost to the San Diego Chargers and Jack Kemp 28-10. Art Baker ran for 117 yards. But then I checked...and Willmer Fowler had run for 120 yards in 1960.
I wouldn't have mentioned my incorrect answer, Chris, but for the irony that you and I just saw Baker's jersey in the Buffalo History Museum earlier tonight.
It's the only known jersey remaining from the Bills first two years, when the colors were blue, silver and white.

Naturally, I am thinking of AFL championships... like Kemp against the Bills. I thought of Lamonica vs Oakland, but Cookie had re-set the team record against the Jets.

oops! The game I was going for was the Bills/Chargers Art Baker game in 1961. I completely missed Willmer Fowler in 1960. ***hangs head in shame***

I got stuck at the same point you did, so then I started cross-checking all the games Earl Morrall played against the Colts thinking that 1968 could constitute a 'league championship'.

In this game . . .

The losing team outgained the winning team by nearly three hundred yards.

Each team had a player who caught two TD passes, and they both caught each one from a different quarterback.

There were four non-offensive touchdowns scored in one wild quarter, two of them by the same player.

Name the game!

I think I've got it. Chiefs 42, Chargers 41 - 10/19/86
