Best post-Shula Dolphin squad

Post by 74_75_78_79_ »

Candidates include any of Jimmy's late-'90s playoff qualifiers, Stadt's pair of 11-5 years '00 & '01 respectively along with two more winners the two seasons after, Saban's '05 team that won their final 6, Sporano/Pennington's 'wildcat' 11-5er in 2008, and finally Gase's installment from a year ago. Who's the best of these?

I have a lot of respect for that 2008 11-5 team that turned this around so quickly after the previous seasons 1-15 debacle. And they started that season off 2-4 as well before going 9-1 down the stretch. The Wildcat has since been snuffed out but nobody had any answers for it back then until Rex Ryan bottled it up in the Wild Card game.

Pennington with a rare healthy season. Unceremonious cast off by the Jets he sticks it to us in week 17. Played his usual mistake free football. He was so unbelievably smart...just a shame his arm couldn't get the ball there.

They found a nice little diamond in the rough receiver in Davone Bess. Greg Camarillo was productive. Ted Ginn may have dropped 30 passes but he did catch 50+ as well.

I'm still trying to figure out if this was perhaps the greatest smoke and mirrors team in NFL history
