The SI article was bogus. I remember that after the article came out, Urlacher was injured early in the 2009 season and the Bears defense collapsed without him. When Urlacher returned in 2010, the Bears magically had one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Pretty much every MLB's career pales in comparison to Ray Lewis. I think Urlacher was clearly the 2nd best MLB of his era behind Lewis, and Urlacher could do things athletically that Lewis simply couldn't do. I don't think Urlacher is "first ballot" level if you are into those things, but I do think that Urlacher is a HOF MLB.

Sorry if I was unclear. I definitely think Urlacher gets in the HoF, and indeed belongs in -- I just don't think it'll be on his first try.
