Looks like he used to write for Bleacher Report and now contributes to Football Outsiders as well as having a blog at wordpress.com. And apparently he tweets a lot. Not the highest of credentials, it seems.JohnH19 wrote:This is one reason I don't do twitter. Who is this clown anyway?
Regardless, it's what you say that counts, and that pair of tweets merits no respect.

I don't use twitter either. Looks like the "pro Graham" side did ok in the debate from the screenshots. I vaguely recall someone did look at the "absorption rate" of AAFC players into the NFL as a proxy for the talent level of the AAFC, but I don't recall the results or where I read it. I once posted hypothetical "super bowls" for the 4 seasons 46-49 on a different board. I think the majority of respondents thought the Browns would split.
Was the original debate about where Graham ranks among all-time QBs?

NFL films top 100 had Montana, Unitas, Manning, and Baugh all ahead of Graham. I'd probably argue the other way and say he's underrated. I know it's a team sport, but 10 championship games in 10 seasons and no one I've ever mentioned that to had any idea before I told them - seems odd to say a player the average fan never heard of is overrated.JohnTurney wrote:TanksAndSpartans wrote:

He says that he is a film buff. That obviously does not include game film.

I remember when Football Outsiders was a stat-geek site that was beholden to a wacky "success points" DVOA formula that was more closely guarded than Colonel Sanders' recipe. Over the years FO has 'devolved' into a "hot take" morass under the guise of statistical enlightenment...my recent algorithm says Bert Jones is the best QB ever, I bet you didn't know that...Paul Warfield is the most overrated player of all-time because he only had one 1000-yard season, I bet you didn't know that...completely baseless 'journalism' at best.bachslunch wrote:Looks like he used to write for Bleacher Report and now contributes to Football Outsiders as well as having a blog at wordpress.com. Exactly. Though I would say they haven't devolved since they've always operated "under the guise of statistical enlightenment". Nonsense from the jump.Bryan wrote:I remember when Football Outsiders was a stat-geek site that was beholden to a wacky "success points" DVOA formula that was more closely guarded than Colonel Sanders' recipe.
