The father was indeed a non-QB. Would your favorite NFL season be, perchance, 1980?ChrisBabcock wrote:This wouldn't be a correct answer since the Saints lost that game.On 12/14/75 Archie Manning rushed for a one yard TD against the Giants, whom would be quarterbacked by his son Eli years later.

It's a tricky one but I think I've got the answer. The father is a non-QB and it happened in my favorite NFL season.
Also of note: Oliver Luck in 1983 threw a touchdown pass against the Colts in a losing effort.

Re: More inane trivia!
Indeed it is! When I first started thinking about this question, I figured it would be too obvious to have the answer be Manning, Griese, Simms, Luck or Kemp and that it probably would be a non-QB. But I was racking my brain and couldn't think of any non-QBs who had sons who went on to be NFL QBs. So I confess I cheated and came across a wikipedia page listing father-son NFL player combos, which led me to the correct answer!.......... Don Hasselbeck. The father was indeed a non-QB. Would your favorite NFL season be, perchance, 1980?
I remember having his 1980 football card when I was a kid. I probably still have it in my box of cards up in the attic.

That is correct! Since your favorite season is 1980, I wonder if you have the pictorial hardcover book PORTRAIT OF A SEASON, which contains hundreds of game photographs from the 1980 season, as well as capsule writeups for all 224 regular season games as well as extensive accounts of the playoffs and Super Bowl XV.

No, not yet. It's been on my Amazon wish list for awhile though. I should probably just go ahead and buy it since I see it's only 4 bucks. That is correct! Not trivia but a tidbit, Herm Edwards supposedly did not watch a single Super Bowl in his life, aside from Super Bowl 15 which he participated it. Once he took an analysts job in 2010 he had to watch, but up until then he would separate himself from the game unless he himself is involved in it in some capacity

Okay, I'll offer up hint - in this particular season the Browns, Chiefs, and Broncos finished above-500; the Pack below-500.ChrisBabcock wrote:Its been 2 years. I don't think anyone has answered this one yet.by 74_75_78_79_ » Sun May 03, 2015 12:17 am
The Browns, Packers, Chiefs, and Broncos each did something in the same season that no NFL team has ever done again since. What and when?

Tied 2 games in a season. (1973)Okay, I'll offer up hint - in this particular season the Browns, Chiefs, and Broncos finished above-500; the Pack below-500.
Although the 49ers and Rams came pretty close to tying each other twice in 2012. The second matchup went into OT with the Rams winning on a Greg Zeurlein 54 yard FG with 30 seconds left.

You got it! The answer was sealed a bit too tight until I threw that hint.ChrisBabcock wrote:Tied 2 games in a season. (1973)Okay, I'll offer up hint - in this particular season the Browns, Chiefs, and Broncos finished above-500; the Pack below-500.
