Hello. Can someone tell me why the NFC Championship Game for the 1982 season was played on a Saturday? For some reason I had always thought the strike had something to do with it but I cannot think of why...

It was strike-related: CBS was already scheduled to show a tennis tournament for what was supposed to be the bye weekend before the Super Bowl, so they simply moved the game to Saturday.Mark wrote:Hello. Thank you. I had looked through some old newspaper previews of the game and none mentioned why it was going to be played on a Saturday.
