Late-'90s Elway "what-if"

Let's just say Denver averts upset to Jags in '96, beats GB in SBXXXI and then do it again in '97...does Elway retire hence
Broncos not performing a three-peat in '98? Or does he shoot for a record hence Broncos do three-peat?

Better yet, does he retire if they lose as heavy dogs to GB in SB 32, which continues the frustration?

I think John Elway would have played the 1998 season no matter what happened in SB 32. Players tend to play as long as they can.
